This policy explains what we collect and why.

Mobix ("Mobix," "we," "us," or "our") operates an on-demand auto services platform that connects vehicle owners with independent mobile mechanics ("Mobix PROs"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our website, create an account, request service, or use related features.

Information we collect

Account details, request info, vehicle and location data, and payment records.

We collect information in these categories:

  • Account and identity: name, email address, phone number, and authentication identifiers when you sign in with phone verification.
  • Service request details: vehicle year, make, model, engine or VIN (if provided), service type, issue description, drivability, service address, preferred date and time, urgency, and optional photos or videos you attach to a request.
  • Communications: messages you send through contact forms, support channels, or in connection with a job.
  • Payment information: transaction amounts, payment status, and payment type (for example PRO Connect fee or repair total). Payment card data is processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • PRO applicants: information submitted through the Mobix PRO application form, including experience, certifications, service areas, and equipment.
  • Staff and PRO portal users: email, name, role, and activity related to dispatch or assigned jobs.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and logs needed to operate and secure the service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies required for sign-in and account security. See our Cookie Policy.

How we collect information

Directly from you when you submit a service request, create an account, pay fees, approve quotes, contact us, or apply as a Mobix PRO.

Automatically when you use our website or portals, including through cookies, server logs, and security monitoring.

From service providers that help us operate Mobix (for example authentication, messaging, hosting, and payments).

How we use information

To run the platform, dispatch PROs, process payments, and improve safety.

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Mobix platform and customer experience.
  • Authenticate users, prevent fraud, and protect the security of accounts and jobs.
  • Dispatch and coordinate service requests, including assigning Mobix PROs and sharing job details needed to complete work.
  • Process the PRO Connect fee and repair payments, and maintain transaction records.
  • Communicate with you about your request, quote, PRO status, payments, and account.
  • Review Mobix PRO applications and onboard qualified mechanics.
  • Comply with law, respond to legal requests, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage to improve our product (we do not sell your personal information).

How we share information

With PROs on your job, infrastructure providers, and when required by law.

  • Mobix PROs and dispatch staff: job details needed to quote, travel to your location, and complete work (for example your name, phone, vehicle, issue, and service address).
  • Service providers: hosting (Supabase), phone verification (Twilio), payment processing (Stripe when enabled), email, analytics if enabled, and customer support tools. These providers process data on our instructions.
  • Business transfers: if Mobix is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction with notice where required.
  • Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is required by law, to protect rights, safety, and security, or to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

International data transfers

Data may be processed in the United States.

Mobix is based in the United States. If you access the service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps designed to protect your information consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Data retention

We keep data while needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations.

  • Account and job records: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to resolve disputes, comply with law, and maintain business records.
  • Payment records: retained as required for accounting, tax, and payment network rules.
  • Logs and security data: retained for a limited period appropriate for security and troubleshooting.
  • Deleted accounts: we delete or anonymize personal data after account closure, except where retention is required by law.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may access, delete, or correct your data.

  • Access and correction: you may review and update profile information in My account where available.
  • Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and associated personal data subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt-out of marketing: you may opt out of promotional emails where we send them.
  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing (Mobix does not sell personal information).
  • EU/UK residents (GDPR): rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children's privacy

Mobix is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (for example by email or in-app notice) where required by law.
